If you’re sitting there wondering whether you ought to keep the doors open on your shop all winter, you may want to make the comparison on a slightly warmer day, but it may in fact be worth the extra heating to get people in the shop.
Here’s a few tips for your stores to increase traffic immediately around the area:
Signage is important — Keep a sign outside your shop which clearly has any valid offers available for anyone walking past the shop
Make the inside visible — Try to allow people to see the store as they are walking past, like window shopping but to actually see the store
Make it look busy — Crowds attract crowds. As much as you can try to keep people in the store, do it.
Train your salespeople — Make the salespeople aware that they should be selling properly. Recognize what customers want before they know they want it, anticipate their needs, don’t be over the top pushy, but make sure they are aware.
Capture customers information —Do NOT under any circumstances let that customer leave without at least attempting to gather some of their information. Then, once you have their information you must utilize it in a way that drives more customers. There is much on this coming, so make sure to subscribe for these tips.
For now, we’ll leave it at that. If you have your own statements to help others, by all means leave them in the comments. Keep those sales coming, do what it takes to make it happen, and be sure to leverage your work even after the sale has happened to create more sales.
